Assessment and prep: We inspect the carpet type, backing condition, seams, and transitions, identify ripples and buckles, and determine the optimal stretch direction. Light furniture can be moved as needed; heavy or delicate items are discussed in advance. We also evaluate tack strips and replace any damaged sections before stretching.
Professional stretching: Using a power stretcher, we re-tension the carpet wall-to-wall, often in multiple passes to meet proper tightness. We reattach the carpet to tack strips, address doorway transitions, re-seam if necessary with heat-bond tape and seam sealer, and trim excess material for a crisp edge at baseboards.
Finishing and care: We groom the pile to blend tool marks, vacuum work areas, and review the results with you. You’ll receive care tips—avoid dragging furniture, use sliders, and allow any adhesives to cure before shampooing. We’ll also advise if pre-existing issues like severe wear, water damage, or backing delamination may limit perfect outcomes.
